Adverting, or some times called web marketing, is the process by which you are getting visitors to your website. Without visitors, you cannot make any money regardless if you are using programs such as Google adwords, selling a product or service or whatever you use to make money through your website.

1. Linking Directories

There is wide range of niche specific directory websites on the internet, by using them to promote, or advertise your website users are likely to find your product or service. While some directories change a fee to list your website, most of them are free.

2. Article marketing

Writing articles that are relevant to your website and publishing them in directories is a great way to promote your site, while this type of advertising is free, you will have to do a little work on your own. You can also pay ghostwriters to write articles for you for a fee.

3. PPC, Pay Per Click Advertising

"PPC" advertising is when you pay a company, such as Google or msn, a specific amount every time a user click on your advertisement listed on their website. This method of advertising can be very costly, and if done incorrectly, will not be very effective in getting good quality traffic to your site.

4. PPA, Pay Per Action Advertising

This type of advertising is similar to the PPC model with the exception that you only pay when a user makes a specific action on your website, such as signing up for the newsletter, a completed sale or other actions that you setup.

5. Email Marketing

This type of advertising is usually frowned upon, with the growing SPAM issues on the internet; most companies are staying away from the email marketing method. However, with the right research and planning this can be very effective way to advertising your website.
